Machinery and process safety design, from preliminary assessments to a fully compliant, safe working environment
In industrial investment projects and equipment modernisations, safety is not a separate phase — it runs through the entire engineering lifecycle. We deliver functional safety engineering for machinery and process industry projects, covering the full scope from hazard identification and risk assessment through to safety function design, implementation, and technical verification.
Our approach is based on systematic, risk-driven engineering that reflects real operating conditions. Risk assessments and process analyses such as HAZOP form the basis for determining required safety integrity levels and the technical safety functions needed to meet them.
Combining your knowledge of the process and equipment with our expertise in applicable standards and engineering methods, we ensure that safety solutions are correctly sized, practically workable, and auditable throughout their lifecycle.
Facing a Modernisation or New Equipment Project?
Industrial environments are complex, and the requirements landscape for machinery and process safety — spanning multiple standards and directives — isn't always easy to map. We can review your situation together and make sure the project moves forward on solid ground.

Machinery Safety
Risk Assessment
The machinery lifecycle requires continuous risk management. We support compliance in new equipment projects as well as in modernisations and integrations of existing lines. Work begins with machinery risk assessment and risk reduction — from which we determine safety requirements and the required Performance Levels.
We take full responsibility for safety function design and implementation throughout. FAT and SAT testing of safety systems, compliance verification and validation, and complete safety documentation and handover material can be a part of the same scope.
- Modernisation, safety upgrades, and integrations
- Machinery risk assessment and risk reduction
- Safety Requirements Specification (SRS)
- Performance Level (PL) determination
- Safety function design and implementation
- Safety automation (Safety PLC)
- FAT and SAT testing support for safety systems
- Compliance verification and validation
- Safety documentation and handover material
Process Safety
Hazard Analysis
Process industry hazards and deviations require thorough analysis before any technical solution is fixed. We carry out HAZOP analyses and process risk assessments, and use these as the basis for determining required Safety Integrity Levels, reviewing safety requirements, and specifying Safety Instrumented Systems.
We design technical safety functions for process and production facilities and support FAT and SAT testing. Safety lifecycle management and management of change are structured to be auditable from the beginning.
- HAZOP analyses for process hazard and deviation identification
- Process risk assessment and management
- Safety Instrumented System (SIS / SIF) specification
- Safety function design for process and production facilities
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determination and verification
- FAT and SAT testing support for safety systems
- Safety lifecycle and management of change support
We work to be the engineering team our clients trust and come back to — on the next project and the ones after that.
