Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering E&I / EIA
We deliver electrical and instrumentation engineering for machine and process industries — in greenfield investments and brownfield modernisations. Engineering capacity is also available as embedded resources directly within your project team.
Engineering to Your Project Requirements
Every project has its own constraints, standards, and scope boundaries. We adapt our engineering delivery accordingly — working to client specifications, preferred documentation formats, and project-specific requirements whether as a full engineering scope or as resources integrated into your team.
We cover the full E&I scope from initial electrical design and instrument selection through to on-site supervision, testing, and commissioning support. ATEX compliance, functional safety requirements, and control system interfaces are handled as part of the same engineering scope — not handed off between separate teams.
Our E&I Engineering Scope
Electrical Engineering
- Electrical engineering for machine, process, and manufacturing industry projects. The scope covers power distribution, motor control, control system wiring, and full electrical design for industrial facilities — from single-line diagrams and cable schedules to layout drawings and equipment specifications.
- Design is produced in coordination with instrumentation and automation engineering, so interfaces between disciplines are resolved at the design stage rather than on site.
Instrumentation Engineering
- Instrumentation engineering for process and production industry projects — field device selection and specification, process measurements, instrument datasheets, hook-up drawings, and control system interfaces.
- Loop documentation is produced to a standard that supports commissioning, maintenance, and future modifications without reconstruction.
Switchgear, MCC, and Control Panel Engineering
- Electrical and control panel engineering as part of the wider E&I scope. Design covers power distribution, Motor Control Centres (MCC), control cabinets, I/O panels, and field device connections — with layouts and wiring documentation produced to manufacturing standard.
- Where required, panel manufacturing is available through our partner network, with design and manufacturing specification handled within the same engineering scope.
ATEX — Hazardous Area Engineering
- Electrical design for hazardous areas, with area classification taken into account from the equipment selection stage. Documentation is produced to EN 60079-14 — covering zone definitions, equipment selection criteria, and installation requirements.
- Design and documentation are structured so that the completed installation is audit-ready at handover — without additional compliance engineering.
Electrical Safety Functions — PL and SIL
- Design and documentation of control system-based safety functions for machinery and equipment projects. Safety requirements are structured from the initial risk assessment through to verification and documentation — covering Performance Level (PL) to EN ISO 13849 and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) to IEC 62061 where applicable.
- The result is safety function documentation that supports both commissioning sign-off and future periodic verification.
Installation Supervision, Testing and Commissioning
- On-site supervision to verify that electrical installations are carried out to specification. Problems caught during supervision cost less to correct than problems found during testing or after handover.
- Carried out by the same team that produced the design — not handed to a separate commissioning team or contractor.
Electrical Documentation and Lifecycle Support
- Complete electrical and instrumentation documentation, produced and structured for long-term use — not just handover. As-built drawings, instrument registers, loop folders, and maintenance documentation are delivered in formats that support ongoing operations.
- We also support systems through modifications, upgrades, and lifecycle modernisation after commissioning.
Fieldbus Engineering
- Modern production facilities combine field devices, drives, and control systems from different vendors and generations — each with their own communication requirements. Our engineers know how these protocols integrate within a unified control architecture and specify fieldbus networks accordingly.
